How to create an organic cleansing oil in 5 simple steps

1. Select organic, cleansing oil, as the type of formula you would like to create today, then click Create.

In the Create Cosmetic Formulas program, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides are used as the base ingredient for organic cleansing oil formulations. This lightweight, natural emollient spreads easily while effectively dissolving oil-soluble impurities such as sunscreen, makeup, and excess sebum. It leaves the skin with a silky, dry-touch feel, without any heavy or greasy residue.

The input of Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides will automatically adjust as you add additional materials to your formula. For additional lipids I have chosen Gotu Kola extract in sunflower oil (organic) for its firming and toning effects, and jojoba oil (organic) for its excellent skin compatibility and oxidative stability.
 

2. Choose your actives, antioxidant and essential oils

For the heat-sensitive materials, I have chosen Seabuckthorn CO2 Extract (organic), an active rich in omega fatty acids, carotenoids, and antioxidants, which helps to nourish, protect, and tone the skin. I’ve also included mixed tocopherols to provide superior antioxidant protection for the cleansing oil. To complement the green-herbal, slightly earthy aroma of Gotu Kola and the fruity-warm scent of Seabuckthorn, I’ve selected lavender and sweet orange essential oils for a harmonious, uplifting fragrance.

3. Choose your emulsifier and superfatting agent

For the emulsifier, I have chosen Span 80, a naturally derived, liquid, low-HLB emulsifier that provides excellent sensory appeal. For the superfatting agent, I have selected Polysugamulse D9, also naturally derived, which contributes a smooth, luxurious texture while helping to deliver actives and antioxidants to the skin.
 

4. Choose added extras and extracts

Additional extracts and functional ingredients are optional, but I have chosen to include extra Gotu Kola Extract (organic) to further enhance the beneficial, firming, and toning properties of my cleansing oil. This reinforces the green-herbal theme of the formulation while providing added nourishment and support for the skin, making the overall cleansing experience both effective and luxurious.

5. Click generate method
